Farwell Presidential Letter - December 2011

It is hard to believe two years have already passed and the reigns are being passed on to the new CTSGNA President Christine Sarisley. It has been my honor and pleasure to serve as your CTSGNA President. November is election month for CTSGNA. At Beyond the Scope a Non Consisted Ballot was approved by the CTSGNA membership. The ballot was as follows:

President- Elect Kathy Vinci
Secretary Gail Steele
Treasurer Rita Botelho

Three Board Members were also elected they are:
Barbara Sullivan
Nancy Covini
Patti Pontinello

Congratulations to all.

Beyond the Scope was a success, we had increased attendance with attendees coming from all over New England. The vendors were very supportive with twenty in attendance. The recipient of CT GI Nurse of the Year was Barbara Sullivan. Barbara is a loyal member of CTSGNA serving in many roles over the years. Three scholarships were given out for BTS they were awarded to Carolyn Checovets-DiVenere RN, Patti Pontinello RN, CGRN and Annia Chase RN, CGRN.

As usual we are starting to plan BTS 2012 which is our 20th year. We are looking for new committee members for BTS. An educational chair and committee is needed. Please contact Gail Steele if you are interested in working on BTS.

CTSGNA has always had a large percentage of its members vote in the National SGNA Elections. Please vote by January 13, 2012. There also is voting for ABCGN.

Please check our CTSGNA web site for our SGNA meetings and other information.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

See you in February at Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Kathy Vinci RN CGRN
President CTSGNA
