Welcome! The ENCSGNA and IMS have teamed-up to build this website. We would like to hear your thoughts! Please e-mail your ideas and suggestions for this website to any board member. President's Message - August 2008Hi to all of our SGNA friends both old and new. This has been a great first year for me as president of such a wonderful organization as ENCSGNA. The level of participation and cooperation from many of you across every corner of the region has been exciting as we have all worked together to promote the cause of GI nursing and focused on helping to lift up all members of region 42. This year has started with a thrilling turn out at the "Pot of Gold" conference in March at WakeMed in Raleigh. A good time was had by all as everyone found out that there's a little "Irish" in all of us :-). Good food, good fun and a wealth of knowledge was had by all who attended. Not only was the attendance noteworthy, but through the generous contributions of our vendors and participants, much-needed funds were put in place for future ENCSGNA events and educational scholarships for all ENCSGNA members. Much work goes into the planning and presentation of activities for ENCSGNA. The attendees see the speakers and the vendors at the conferences, but the real heroes are those ENCSGNA members that work behind the scenes, endless hours for months to make one day of quality educational offerings available to the participants. A special thanks goes to all those little leprechauns at WakeMed Endoscopy in Raleigh. Without the commitment of those among us to go the extra mile, these goals of success and excellence cannot be attained. So as we go about the chores of surviving the dog days of summer, trying to stay cool, finding new innovative ways to keep the kids entertained until school starts back, finishing off that tan that will hopefully take you through the winter, take a moment to think about becoming one of those who go above and beyond for all of us in ENCSGNA this year. Ask yourself how you can make a difference and talk with an ENCSGNA rep from your area or call me directly at 919-350-8994. It would be great to work with you and your team to put together the next big event for ENCSGNA. Speaking of the next big event, mark your calendars for Sept 6, 2008 when we will present the "Harvest of GI Knowledge" at the Friday Center in Chapel Hill. The Endo team from Meadowmont Endoscopy Center at UNC has worked hard all summer to put the final touches on this excellent educational presentation and we all look forward to seeing each and every ENCSGNA member present to support our region and join in all the fun. Bring your collegues ; share with them the benefits of becoming part of this great team. Until next time, best wishes for a great summer and God bless.
