It's certainly hard to believe that I will be stepping down as your president in about 6 months, but I know that Bonnie Streeter will keep up the pace and continue to grow and improve our region. This has been great for me as president of such a wonderful organization as ENCSGNA. The level of participation and cooperation from many of you across every corner of the region has been exciting as we have all worked together to promote the cause of GI nursing and focused on helping to lift up all members of region 42. Not only was the attendance at the spring meeting in Wilmington noteworthy, but through the generous contributions of our vendors and participants, much-needed funds were put in place for future ENCSGNA events and educational scholarships for all ENCSGNA members. A great deal of work goes into the planning and presentation of activities for ENCSGNA and getting the results we have makes it all worth it. The attendees see the speakers and the vendors at the conferences, but the real heroes are those ENCSGNA members that work behind the scenes, endless hours for months to make one day of quality educational offerings available to the participants. Without the commitment of those among us to go the extra mile, these goals of success and excellence cannot be attained. So as we go about the chores of surviving the dog days of summer, trying to stay cool, finding new innovative ways to keep the kids entertained until school starts back, finishing off that tan that will hopefully take you through the winter, take a moment to think about becoming one of those who go above and beyond for all of us in ENCSGNA this year. Ask yourself how you can make a difference and talk with an ENCSGNA rep from your area or call me directly at work number is 252-847-0506 and my cell number is 607-435-2205. It would be great to work with you and your team to put together the next big event for ENCSGNA. 2011 Spring Conference CommentsI wanted to say &thank you& for the SGNA show this weekend. As a vendor it was very successful so I hope that it was viewed as a success from your end as well. You definitely have my support for future conferences and I look forward to the next one. Let me know if I can do anything else for you Cathy. Have a great week. It was a great event this weekend. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it. I met a number of clinicians that had some great interest in our product line. The meeting was great. The amount of leads and new contacts surpassed any previous meeting that I attended. The hour long break was especially good, nobody felt rushed. Keep having the meeting at places like Carolina Beach and we will continue to attend. Thank you for a great meeting! ESGNA Educational ScholarshipIt's that time of year again when we need to think about our education goals for the year to come. Are you going to the annual SGNA meeting in Indianapolis this May? Are you re-certifying, or going to be taking the certification exam, are you returning to school? The ENCSGNA would like to help. The mission of our board is to maintain financial stability while promoting education to the regional nurses and associates. We reinvest money we make from our regional conferences back into our members through scholarships. Attached you will find the scholarship application and contract form to be completed by December 31st for 2011 expenses. Please let me know if you have any questions I am happy to help.
